Vanessa Marcil is an American actress born on the 15-th of october 1968 in Indio, California. Her father was Peter Ortiz, a contractor, and her mother Patricia Marcil was a herbalist.
She spent her childhood in Palm Springs and has three older siblings. Even since she was little her acting and singing impressed all those around her. When she was in the sixth grade she won a talent constest and started acting in plays.
She soon started pursuing an acting career and she caught the eyes of General Hospital producers. They offered the role of Brenda Garrett to Marcil in 1992. Her run with General Hospital ended in 1998 but still appeared in the 2000, 2002 and 2003 seasons. She is also set to appear in the 2011 season.
She also starred as Gina Kincaid in Beverly Hills 90210, alongside with Tiffani Thiessen or Jennie Garth and was on board for about two seasons.
She also tampered with Hollywoodand other independent filmmakers and as a result she appeared in a number of feature films like the Rock (1996), Nice guys sleep alone (1999) and This space between us (1999).
Other television series in which she starred was Las Vegas (2003), Crossing Jordan (2004), Lipstick Jungle (2008) and Without a trace (2009).
Vanessa Marcil had two marriages. One that ended in divorce with Corey Feldman in 1993 and another one with Carmine Giovinazzo, from CSI New York, with whom she married in 2010.
