Kristen Stewart was born on April 9, 1990, in Los Angeles, California. Her birth name is Kristen Jaymes Stewart. She is an actress best known for her role in film "Twilight".
Kristen Stewart was raised in Los Angeles. Her family relocated to Colorado for several years but after that they moved back to Los Angeles. Her father is John Stewart, a stage manager and a TV producer. Her mother is Jules Mann-Stewart, a script supervisor originally from Australia. Kristen Stewart has an older brother, Cameron. Thanks to their parents she was on the Hollywood scene at an early age.
Kristen Stewart's family worked behind the camera and she thought she would do the same. She never considered being an actor because she didn't want to be the center of attention. A talent scout discovered her when she was eight years old after her performance in a school Christmas play. Kristen Stewart started auditioning and she got her first nonspeaking role in "The Thirteenth Year". Her big break was in 2002, when she stared in the blockbuster drama, "Panic Room". She played the role of Sarah Altman, the diabetic daughter of Meg Altman, played by Jodie Foster.
Kristen Stewart's biggest success until now was in the movie "Twilight"(2008), a film about a teen who falls in love with a vampire. This movie is based on Stephenie Meyer's bestselling novel. She stars as Isabella "Bella" Swan, the girlfriend of the vampire Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson. For the role of Bella Swan she was awarded the MTV Movie Award for Best Female Performance. Kristen Stewart reappeared in the sequels, The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010).
