Catherine Ann "Kate" Bosworth (born January 2, 1983) is an American actress. After appearing in 1998's The Horse Whisperer, Bosworth became well known with a leading role in 2002's Blue Crush, and has since appeared in several notable films, including Superman Returns, where she played Lois Lane. Bosworth also filmed 21 in early 2007 in Boston, Massachusetts and Las Vegas, Nevada starring up and coming actor Jim Sturgess. This is the film adaptation of the book Bringing Down the House, and reunites her with co-star Kevin Spacey and director Robert Luketic. She is currently shooting the epic Laundry Warrior in New Zealand alongside Korean star Jang Dong-gun and Geoffrey Rush. Next, she takes the lead in the film adaptation of Paulo Coelho's best selling novel Veronika Decides to Die to be directed by British director Emily Young in early 2008. Following Veronika Decides to Die Bosworth is attached to star in After.Life, a supernatural thriller by writer/director Agnieszka Wojtowicz-Vosloo. She has also bought the film rights to Catherine Hanrahan's novel Lost Girls and Love Hotels, about a young woman looking to escape in Tokyo's seedy nightlife. She will produce the project along side filmmaker Nadia Connors. January 2008, Kate Bosworth is the new face for Calvin Klein Jeans, to be featured in a Calvin Klein Jeans campaign, with its history of iconic imagery. She also takes on the role of spokesperson for American luxury bag brand Coach in Asia.
