Eva Green (her birth name is Eva Gaëlle Green) is a French actress born on 5th July 1980 in Paris. Her filmography includes "Kingdom Of Heaven", "The Dreamers" or "Casino Royale". She is the fifth French actress to be in a Bond movie, after Sophie Marceau.
Eva Green is the daughter of French (born in Algeria, then a French territory) actress Marlene Jobert and Swedish dentist Walter Green. Eva Green was born two minutes earlier than her non-identical twin sister called Joy. They are very different, physical and mental. Joy studied business and she is more down-to-earth than Eva is.
Eva Green was raised in Paris where she went to the American School of Paris for one year. That school was English-speaking and this is one of the reasons why she's bilingual in French and English. After she graduated, she started to take acting classes. At the age of 17 years old she enrolled at St. Paul drama school in Paris. After spending three years there, she attended a 10-week course at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
After Eva Green played on stage in several theater productions, she caught the eye of academy award winning director Bernardo Bertolucci. In 2003 she accepted his invitation to star in "The Dreamers", although her parents disagreed because of the nude scenes. Eva Green was critical acclaim for this role, even being compared to Liv Tyler. She attracted the attention from male audiences especially for her full frontal nudity seen on more scenes of the film. She continued to work with other famous directors like Ridley Scott, who casted in "Kingdom of Heaven" (2005) with only one week before filming began. In 2006 she co-starred in "Casino Royale" in which she worked with Daniel Craig.
