Alanis Morissette The First Years
Alanis Morissette was born the first of june, 1974 in the city of Ottawa in Canada, from the teachers Alan and Georgia Morissette. She has a big brother, Chad, and a twin brother, Wade. Her first song, at age of nine years old, has been Fairies Stay With Me.
At ten years, Alanis participated at the auditions of the program for children of the Canadian television “You Can't Do That on Television”, recorded in her city, Ottawa. She passed the selections to the Wade brother, and appeared in the show with a sure frequency together, in order then to abandon it after the first season. The following year, Alanis published “Fairies Stay With Me” . She was noticed by Stevan Klovan that, and in 1988, she has song the national hymn to the inauguration of the world-wide championships of figure skating.
Later on Alanis went to New York, accompanied from the musician Leslie Howe, with the scope to meet the leaders of the record houses (between which also Scott Welch). This experience then was told in songs like “UR”.
To New York, Thanks to the aid of Leslie Howe the Morissette participated to the competition for new talents “Star Search” that was kept to Los Angeles, where however lost to the first turn of the competition.
