Alanis Morissette Alanis Now Is The Time
In 1990, Alanis Morissette signed a contract with MCA Records, and the year after that published her album, Alanis. On the credit side age, Morissette was credited simply with the name of “Alanis” in order to avoid possible confusions with the Canadian singer Alannah Myles. The album gained a double platinum disc in Canada, and it had a best single , Too Hot, entered in the Top Ten of classify Canadian. Successive single “the Feel Your Love”, “Walkaway” and “Plastic” were of the modest successes.
In 1992, Alanis received three nomination to the Juno Awards: “single of the year”, “best dance album” and “feminine voice more promising” (prize that then she won). In the same year she published her second album, “Now Is The Time”. “Now Is The Time” sold approximately 50.000 copies, less of the half than those of first the album, making her to lose the contract with the MCA.
